In reading the "who here likes rap thread?", it dawned upon me that I have about 3 times as much rap on my computer than metal. Never really gave metal a chance, I got into classic rock, then straight to funk. Alot of it sounds the same but....

What are some good metal songs you guys know of?
#10
Seek & Destroy - Metallica
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Number of the Beast - Iron Maiden
2 Minutes to Midnight - Iron Maiden
Peace Sells - Megadeth
Tornado of Souls - Megadeth.

That should be enough to get you started.
The song that got me into metal was 'Enter Sandman' by Metallica, which is quite different from the other Metallica songs I mentioned.

No, it's funny, lol. It has NO groove or rhythm and I just find it boring/lacking in musical interest.

C'mon DeSean... Been here since '04 and you haven't seen the Metal Reccomendation Thread? Go to the metal forum and find it stickied at the top, that's all you'll need to find good metal.

Yeah... but rap wasn't in the "Other" forum... so I didm't think this should go in "Metal".....

Okay I wasn't being serious.. I can't stand metal.

I just created this thread because I thought the rap one was in the wrong forum, it shouldn't be in the pit. And its got 5 pages of replys....

I just wanted to see how long it would take for this thread and/or the rap one to get closed.

But they aren't

Soooo.......

listen to dragonforce...it's the hardest metal to play!!

lol

try some trivium man

or metallica if you want some old school classics etc

depends on what you plan to acheive by getting into really?

i mean... do you plan on learning some metal riffs etc on guitar?

hope that makes sense

EDIT: you bastard.

Try some 90s Metallica or some classic metal like Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden. Or listen to Dream Theater. But I wouldn't try something too heavy for a first listen.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.

Confused? Good.

no, it's just unmellotic **** loads of notes put together with more bunch of noise then some attempt to put vocals with all the noise thats hard to listen to anyway.

thats pretty easy really.

if you want something hard try metallica or trivium. or something that you can make out the notes of

check out extreme if your into funk...

No see your a little ignorant. Regardless of whether or not that can play it live, it is still complicated music. Even Kirk Hammett agrees that "those guys are fast"

GTFO im not a dragonforce fan but to cover there songs properly takes skill ,precision
and speed
and maybe to you it sounds like that but it sounds technical as all hell to me

why is this even still going if the TS has said this entire thing was a joke!?

and yes Trivium's cover of master of puppets is good
#32
Rap sounds more the same than metal does.

Wow, thanks claud the genius.

I was using the phrase 'rhythm' not to mean simply.... any rhythm . Have you never heard the phrase 'white men got no rhythm'? Well, it doesn't mean white men have NO rhythm.
