I've finally decided to take the plunge at go to an open mic night and do a couple songs. Problem is, I've quit smoking for a couple weeks and my voice has really taken the ****. I need something that can clear my throat out a bit, good enough to sing again, without smoking. Anybody know of anything?

Drink a quart of tequila....that'll clear more than you're throat....

Yeah, I know that does work..... but haha, I don't like the idea of the other effects when I'm up there with a microphone.

when I quit smoking I pretty much had to learn how to sing again because after my system cleared out all the crap I inhaled over the years I could hit notes that I never thought I'd be able to. The warm water gargling might help, but I think the problem is that you'll have it back in no time because your lungs are being cleared out of all the tar and crap that has built up in there.
