some amps have a speaker out.

depends on the amps.

and yes, sometimes you can run a head to a combo's speaker.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

ok, tanks.

well say I got the vox ac30cc2, and buy a head, would I be able to run it through?

and what if the head is like 100 watts, will it still be able to work with the vox? I was thinking of buying a head, maybe a crate v33 or a peavey windsor...

edit: and then later on when I have more money, I would buy a cab to go with it...

you dont buy a thousand dollar amp and then run a cheap head thru it.

haha yeah, well when you dont have much money and like to have both high gain and love the sound of the vox ac30, what can you do??

I know I can buy a combo, but it seems the head version of most amps are cheaper...

well not cheaper in the long run. because adding up head and cab usually costs more.

i suggest if you want an ac, you should buy an ac and use a pedal to od it.

if you just plain like how head/ cabs look. then save up and do it right.

dont buy a combo just to make it a cab. that's my opinion.

no, I already have the ac30...

I want another amp that has more gain, but all the combos I can find that might have more gain cost more then their head versions..

no I have never had a chance...but I had heard that you can od it, but it wouldnt get to the range I want. so I was thinking of getting a distortion pedal. I want to get some underoath type of sound....

i suggest you check out some pedals.

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Visual-Sound-V2-Series-V2JH-Jekyll-Hyde-Overdrive-and-Distortion-Guitar-Multi-Effects-Pedal?sku=150481

this sounded pretty good when i tried it out on some amps. i didnt try it with an AC but depending on ur budget, there are some nice boutique pedals too.

just plug in. see if you can find anything you like.

if not, then you should be able to line into ur ac thru the fx loop or similar, from another head.

just read ur manual.
