^ Good choices so far, I'm looking for 2-3 songs per band max. Nirvana I like but I hear them all the time so I decided to keep them off the list, obvious smart choice though.

*Edit*

Reelbigfish2020 you're a genius, I can't believe I missed Sublime, you sir just made this album +1000.

Not gonna lie to you guys, I'am pretty particular to more upbeat alternative rock, I enjoy the odd grunge song here and there and don't get me wrong alot of the bands you guys are suggesting I've already thought of and love, I just don't think there will be enough room to put every classic from back in the day.

There is however one particular grungish/creed sounding (bad example I know) song that was a big hit back almost 14ish years ago. I heard it on the radio about a year ago and can't remember the name.

Do you even realise how many grungish/creed sounding bands and songs there were back in '94?

And may I ask what the purpose is of such a list if we can't contribute?
#20
I know, that's why I said it wasn't a very good description, the band I'am thinking of has been on the tip of my tongue for the past week or so.

This is all just a list for a cd I plan on making, contribute all you want, I actually enjoy trying to remember the songs from my childhood. If you name the right bands I'll put them on the list. But if you guys want a list made with all the good songs from back in the day it would take forever considering in my opinion this was the best time for music, I could go on forever naming bands/songs that were awesome.

Edit* Thanks Vintage, I was just too lazy to google the lyrics to grab the band name. Know anymore songs they put out that were any good?

Get you some Hootie and the Blowfish

I know it's more poppy and less grungy like you like, but they are a hallmark Pop/Rock band of the 90's, and I'd even argue that they have a big influence on a lot of the bands on your list.

If you want upbeat, you're gonna need Spacehog and Meat Puppets. And since you seem to be into the radio thing, Meat Puppets-Lake Of Fire.. but get the version from Too High to Die.

And In the Meanwhile or Candy Man for Spacehog.

For the record, that Jewel song is called "Who Will Save Your Soul" I think...

You Were Meant For Me is so much better though. And Standing Still.

The Connells - '74-'75?
And what is more, there's been a bloody purple nose and some bloody purple clothes that were messing up the lobby floor. It's just apartment house rules so all you 'partment fools remember : one man's ceiling is another man's floor.

Your #78, the mighty mighty bosstones, pretty sure the song name is The Impression that I Get.

Your list is seriously lacking in Dinosaur Jr. Two of their hits in the early 90's were Feel the Pain and Start Choppin'

The superior version is on the end of Comin' Down. Its got a lot more wah-wah drenched solos in it.

Also, Not An Addict by K's Choice.

Keep in mind these are all songs from when I was in elementry school. I didn't really have much of a choice, and radio was really my only source of music.

Stereophonics, Soundgarden, and Placebo all appear to be missing from the list.
I play by my own rules. And I have one rule; There are no rules... but if there are, they're there to be broken. Even this one.
