so my new jackson came last night. i pulledit out of the box and i tuned it. sighted the neck and noticed where the neck meets the body (its called the pocket) it horribly raised i cant tune the low E string properly. when i tune the string and try to intonate it it doesnt work. basiclyif i have the E string tuned and the 12th fret tuned then the frist fret (f) is sharp! i mean like signifiintly sharp. and so is the G and A notes. but when i get to the B string it goes flat! and after the 12th fret everything is VERy flat. so im exchanging it for a new one. but it sucks cuz i have to wait longer now has this happened to anyone or did i just get a dud. i know these things happen

its not an intonation issue. iv tryed intonating it. when you sight the neck u can see the riased frets and such. it raises up at the pocket. and yea its being exchanged. it just sucks. these things happen though. its the issue of buying it online. but gutiar center is being cool and letting me exchange it. they said if i have to i can return it 5 times till its right or more.

druz15 your an idiot. have u ever played a jackson? there the fastest sweetest necks around. let me guess you on a crapictor. o i mean schector. iv played about 15 jacksons in the stores and iv owned 2. they are the best guitars. t his one happens to be a dud. it happens all the time with guitars

How do you try a guitar before you buy it when you're ordering it online (hint hint, the guy got it in a PACKAGE, he didn't go to Guitar Center and pick it up)?

That's not what Im saying, what im saying is that this guy went on a website, looked at a guitar he thought looked cool, and bought it on a whim because some noob gave it a 5 star review on guitar centre. Just a wild guess, A lot of those types come in here, if im wrong TS, sincerest apologies from the bottom of my heart

yea at guitar center by me they only have jacksons with tremelos. so they had to special order it and they sent it to my house. at least there being cool and sending me a new one
#14
yea i hate schecters. the necks feel like crap. they are to thick and the frets are to big. they buzz way to much for me. plus the electronics crap out fromw hat iv read and seen
#15
Ive just come off a ban some Im not going to insult anyone, to answer your questions poiltely, yes I have played several shecters and jacksons, both sounded thin and weak even when floored though quality valve and solid state amps. But hey, im not into metal, i like my guitars to sound nice, just personal preference, night y'all

i see. well then we are cool. DID NOT buy the guitar online. i bought it at the store, they just sent it to my house. i didnt buy it cuz it looked cool and i am not a NOOB. but its all good. i bought it because every other model had a floyd rose and id ont want a floyd rose. but i played almost every model in the "dinky" series (what a lame name though lol) and loved them and the neck.

And your Jackson is un-intonatable, what's your point? My Schecter Omen 6 (one of those two hundred dollar instruments) is tuned to A# with 12 gauge strings and it doesn't buzz at all, ever.

prime example of a troll get out please

edit: if the neck is warped then there is something wrong with the truss rod so you will have to adjust it. bring it to a specialist or something and pay them to adjust it or identify the problem if it isnt the neck, and have them fix that problem
#19
there is ntohing wrong with the truss road. its the fretboard when the neck meetst he body is raised. iv done everything to set it up. its just a bad neck. i payed 700 bucks more or less for it. img oing to return it till i get a perfect one. every string is fine EXEPT the E and A sting. do you guys read the post? i said im exchanging it for a new one

So what's the point of the thread? You've already solved the problem.

If a new guitar comes in messed up like that they should fix it or exchange it and it appears that's exactly what they did. I've had my Jackson for a year now and it's been flawless.

Some of the DK2Ms and DKMGTs had a short run with miscut neck pockets. There is a work around, but you need to know what you're doing I would just take it back though as you are doing. It's ashame GC is selling these as B-stock in most cases (remember those $299 ones at some GCs awhile back). And FYI the name Dinky comes from the body size and neck config; a bolt on with a 7/8ths size Strat body.

I haven't heard any reports in a long while. I first heard it with the DK2MRGF MF did about two years ago, and then about 6 months back. I would figure they are all fine, and the new ones GC gets in play perfect as well. The problem was not wide spread anyway. My wager is it affected under 500 guitars.

Oh, dear, my MIJ Jackson Professional must be a crap guitar...

Despite the fact its tone/playability ****s on all of the other people in my school's guitars, and we're not talking about just Squiers, we're talking about MIM and MIA Fender Strats and some nice Ibanez RGs

I dare all of you who thinks Jackson is crap to play my SL2H for an hour and make that utter stupid comment again. Come on, who's first? It is probably THE fastest and best playable guitar on this forum. If not, its one of the best.

EDIT: this might be cocky and stuff, but i think it wont be far from the truth.
