Yeah, that's a true musician right there.

I usually do originals with one cover.
Yea we used to do the same; out of every 6 songs we did we'd have 1 cover, 12 songs, 2. You get the idea.
Now we just don't play covers as a band at all. We haven't toiled as a unit to write original material to get the old "Your set was great, especially *insert the only cover you did in your set*!".

Whilst a good covers band can be fun, I'm of the opinion that if I wanted to hear a particular famous song, I'll use the jukebox tyvm.

Now I only play covers if I'm doing a solo acoustic style gig; maybe 2 or 3 of 8.

I don't even know my band's song names. The bass kicks in after the drums or the guitar, so I just go by that, unless it's the song that I start off.

Although I am trying to get Pearl Jam's Spin the Black Circle in there. My singer wants to cover Cher though.

For my next gig I'm playing in 3 bands, the last one I'm just filling in as a guest bassist so I didn't get any say over the material. It's pretty good fun to play that kind of stuff though. They're all cover bands because it's my last college gig and covers are more fun to play and go down better with the crowd. And we're too lazy to make proper bands.

band 1, aka "we like rage against the machine and cheesy pop-punk far too much":

Pain for pleasure - Sum 41
Know Your Enemy - RATM
All My Friends Are Dead - Turbonegro
Sleep Now in the Fire - RATM
Popcorn - Hot Butter, going into The Hell Song - Sum 41
Killing in the Name of - RATM (overdone, but it's so fun to play and goes down a storm)

Band 2, which is my "main" band for this thing:

Cygnus... Vismund Cygnus - The Mars Volta
Goliath - The Mars Volta
Take the Veil Cerpin Taxt - The Mars Volta

Band 3, which is my "metulz" friends and me stood there looking out of place, this doesn't really reflect my own music taste:

Nemesis - Arch Enemy
Imperium - Machine Head
Bastard set of dreams - Dead to Fall
Harvest - Opeth

I'm going to be knackered by the end of the night.
A dwarf might hear you. What then?
