I guess everyone already knew that Peavey cares more about money than music, but I just didn't see this coming:

Peavey RiffMaster Controllers

It seems like such a waste... but on the other hand, if your life objective is to stand in front of a screen of imagination pressing five note-less buttons, this is a good way to further your world of pretend play.

[EDIT] Please note the following: Being that there have been multiple posts added since this, the original post, and that the issues at hand have been resolved to a further point, please read the posts to the utmost current, before trying to degrade, insult, or enlighten me over your superior understanding of a company's ability to "sell out".

Thank you.

Define "selling-out". I'm sick of people calling every band and every company sell-outs when they don't know what it means.

Of course they would care more about money than music... They're a commercial company.

Why would Peavey care about music? They don't make music, they make amps and guitars and such.

Merriam-Webster definition

Main Entry: sell-out
Function: verb
Date: 1796
to betray one's cause or associates especially for personal gain

In my opinion, Peavey is a music company, not a toy or video game company; they've sold-out their cause/association with music for personal gain.

It's business. Since when did business have morals? There are laws governing business practices, but the very nature of business is to make money.

Peavey are a business, the aim of a business is to make money. They're bring out a product which they believe will make them money, thereby fulfilling the entire premise of their existence.

Also, how can a business 'sell out' in the terms being talked about? It makes no sense in the context. The only thing I can think of is if a company based on selling green products, for example, started pumping oil. Ludicrous suggestions in this thread.

God, not another comparing Guitar Hero to playing a guitar. The two are entirely different things.

what exactly did Peavey betray? If Peavey are sell outs, so is pretty much every other company that sells more than one product. You can buy anything with a Gibson logo onb it these days, where are all the Gibson 'sell-out' threads? Like I said before, this doesn't affect you. If you don't like it, don't buy from them and stop whining about it.

True, I see your point. I guess they're not so much sell-outs as they are just another of the hundreds of companies cashing in on what seems to me like a stupid fad (like DDR). The fact that they're a genuine music company just makes it seem a little distasteful.
