I'm looking at new guitars, and i like playing heavy metal type music
I really like the Jackson Warrior
B.C. Rich's look awesome, but i heard that they are crap
any recommendations?
#2
BC Rich guitars are kind of shoddy unless you spend at least $4-500. I've played and owned several and they never impressed me.

Schecter guitars are very good throughout all price ranges and have thick, dark tones.
#3
Personally, I think any solidbody with a bridge humbucker can be used just fine for metal.

I would recommend Schecters though.

Really the best metal guitars I've played were ESPs (I've tried 7 or 8 different ones). I wish I owned one.

OMG Alexi Laiho's signature guitar is an ESP
Children of Bodom is f****ing AWESOME my favorite band

amp makes more of a difference. Ibanez, Shecters, ESP, those are the most common in metal

Jackson, Ibanez, Schecter, ESP and (high end) BC Rich are pretty good metal orientated guitars. Look into those brands.

Peavy Rotor EX/P if your on a budget of about 500$.

Looks brutal, Floyd Rose, good tone, great action, and very comfortable

I'd say BC's get more crap than they deserve... I've heard plenty of them pull some brilliant sounds, so I'll go with those. Apart from that - ESP, jackson, Washburn do some decent ones, and EPiphone and Gibson when you push em enough can do a damn fine job.

can anyone tell me the difference between the ALEXI LAIHO ESP and the ALEXI LAIHO-600?
on this page:
http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_alexi.html

Well one of them is an ESP, and the build quality is much better (From what I know I havent personally tried) and the 600 is an LTD, which I assume is an imported guitar.

Also the ESP has Gotoh tuners and the LTD600 has the Grovers.

The stats on paper are the same, but you should notice quality difference when buying the actual ESP opposed to the LTD, IMO.

also it appears the ESP comes with an "boost" switch, which will liven up the gain.

But hey it just looks like it does, though it doesnt say so on the stats

I'm a fan of Schecter's myself. ESP/LTDs have a big name in metal as well as (higher end) BC Rich.

Amp's going to play the bigger role in tone though.

A Telecaster with some high output stacked pups. A Tele neck is so easy to play fast solos on. You won't get that BR0074L Drop Quadruple Z chugga chugga stuff out of it though.

I have to go with ESP and upper end LTDs.
