A lot of you have already seen my other thread about the strat i'm building, but i've run into a little road block. I can't decide which pickguard to use, tortoise or black. So i need you guys to help me out here's a comp of the two pickguards, and an actual picture of my guitar body to help visualize. Please vote, and let me know what you think so i can build this thing.

I like the tortoise shell too, although it's hard to choose, as I don't really see them looking right by the graphics.

Also, slightly off topic, what did you use to create those graphics?

Wow thats looks real nice, and will look great either way when its done.
I voted black because I think the black will look a little better.

i think the black finish gives it that sleek, kind of a Nuno Bettencourt look to it. i like, either way!

Tortoise is always my pick with a natural finish. It keeps the organic aesthetic (despite tortoise being made of celluloid, now).
Sincerely, Chad.

Tortoise just looks fake and cheesy to me

Quality celluloid tortoise resembles real tortoise, to some degree. Tony Rice has a real, beautiful, piece of tortoise on his Holy Grail D-28 that was given to him at a show in Japan.
Sincerely, Chad.

I voted black, but just curious. Aren't you the guy who was painting the swirl guitar? If so, is it done? I haven't been over to GB&C in a while.

Also, in my opinion, the two cheapest looking things are either black plastic or white plastic.
Sincerely, Chad.

Hey, maybe you can make your own pickguard out of a thin piece of wood. Or glue lots of veneers on top of eachother.
