Just as the title says. For me, it'd be Dragonforce. If you get past the whole Guitar Hero image they're not too bad. I actually quite enjoy their first album.Songs like Disciples of Babylon and Valley of the Damned are actually enjoyable for me, once you get pas the cheesy lyrics. Although, their latest works I really don't like.

I could have sworn I've already seen a thread like this before, and to answer your question, I'd have to say I like Dragonforce as well from time to time, but even you have to admit they are absolutely horrendous live.

Yeah, having seen them live before, I do have to say they are horrible.

Edit: I did several searches, didn't find a thread like this. Although there is a possibility I missed it >_<.

Sonic Syndicate. A newer band from Swedan...not usually my prefered sound but they opened for another band and it was awesome, so I bought their album. It kicks ass.

Cannibal Corpse! I'm like the only kid at my school he likes them! I mean i can understand about the style of vocals, but the riffs they come up with are brutal!

Seems a lot of people don't like Kathaarsys around here, while I love them, as Slaytanic mentioned the other day.

They're very popular in the "true" metal community. Otherwise in mainstream society all it is is Rap,Pop, R&B, and Metalcore.

Oh gawd... They're horrible. There's no conviction, or originality... The only thing they got goin for em is a fiarly hot chick bassist.

As for me though: Satariel, and Omnium Gatherum (Spirits and August Light only, cause the vocals are tolerable, and the music excellent).

Well until you find something go to http://www.severedsavior.com and get the few free tracks.

Depends what you mean. If you mean people in general like on UG and such, I don't know, I'm too lazy to look through my hundreds of bands.

In real life, every metal band except Metallica and Pantera. No one I know listens to metal.

Lol. You have no idea how popular both of those bands are in the metal community. And, if 3 people you know like them, than they don't qualify for this thread.

The Sword. People on the Metal Archives hate em, but I think they're one of the better bands out there today.
#24
Black Tide. I like them, but they seem to have no cred in the metal community.

You're losing interest because you're simply not gay enough. Which leads me to believe you aren't cut out for metal.

generally epic metal(bands like manilla road, cirith ungol, doomsword, brocas helm ...).the genre is underestimated and the young metal community listens to new-wave crap....

If you like Primordial and doomy folk stuff, check out Void of Silence.

Same singer as Primordial, doom metal.

They're a band I like, but no one else seems to yet.

Void of Silence are great. I went to their myspace not expecting anything interesting in particular and ending up almost crapping myself after listening to them.

Exhorder and pestilence are both So sick. Great bands. I love "The Law" and "Consuming Impulse"... and I'd say Pestilence, at least on here is fairly well known, not very much so (they definitely receive the least amount of recognition of the main tech and prog DM bands) but they are still semi-known

EDIT: most of the others i've heard of... just haven't heard.

Many fans resent Pestilence for totally disowning the death metal genre.

They basically said that they played death metal just so they could get a record deal. Later they went to jazz.
