Holy diver is an awesome song that makes small children explode and drugs appear from thin air.

Ibanez and Jackson are usually what you'll have suggestions for.

ESP, and Caparison are awesome too, but I somehow doubt you could afford one of those.

BC Rich's are good, but only if you buy the higher end ones.

Same with Dean, for that matter.

LTD Alexi-600. Original FR, alder body, and some Blackouts.
The ESP Eclipse models are great too.

Ibanez RG570... one of rock's greatest metal guitars. They've got a great heavy sound through a Marshall amp, floating Floyd Rose tremolo so they NEVER go out of tune. You can whammy all you want, dive bomb, basically rape the **** out of your strings and they will always go back in tune. Highly recommended! I have 3 of them for this reason.

For off-the-shelf guitars, it's very hard to beat the ESPs and LTDs. Brilliant guitars. Great fit, finish and sound.

Custom, I'd have to say Blackmachine, but then, I'm biased..
