So were the others. Govan is one of the best guitarists alive, his instructional books are fantastic as well.

If Hendrix, Clapton and Page were to jam, the most impressive guitarist playing would be Paul Gilbert.

I think he stands just below artists like Vai and Satriani

Below? don't think so.

Besides, he wipes the floor with Vai and Satch.

I think we already have quite a few Guthrie threads. Besides, he wipes the floor with Vai and Satch.

yes yes yes yes yes

Guthrie is beyond amazing.
And you can't spell funeral
without fun
hope you had a good time
cuz now your life is done

"Wipe the floor with" is not a phrase any of those guitarists would have used regarding each other's playing. And did anyone here hear that awesome Howe quote -

"I'd only make an album with him if he gave me some lessons!".

Couse, don't make me get out my Shawn Lane quotes...

+1 to this but I'd much rather he took his time and made another album as good as Erotic Cakes than hurried and put out something sub-standard.

How 'bout a full-blown fusion album with The Fellowship?

Givvus 'dat.

*shakes fist*

Speaking of which, is it released yet? I was in touch with Pete ages ago and he said it was going to be in production for ages - and since then my heads been up in the clouds.

I'll second that question.

I can't find his album anywhere

But from what I've seen from videos on YouTube, he's freaking amazing.

Okay, i got in touch again with Pete Riley (who signed my copy of Erotic Cakes and we've been in/out of touch since) and he says the project has been basically canned -

The results weren't great. We didn't have very good shots and the venue wasn't good enough.
A shame as the audio was OK-though we did feel that we didn't play too well.

There you go. I inquired as to the chance of free digital footage or just a release of more fellowship stuff, waiting on his reply now.

I feel bad now, there was one point that I walked in front of a camera....maybe thats why they didn't go through with it

Good vids.

What time does he mess up in Sevens?
#27
Fuck yeah, Waves! I really wanted to see him play that.
Known.
Some.
Call.
Is.
Air.
Am?

Incoherent - yes.
Without meaning - I'm afraid not.

"Known some call is air am."
Which is to say-

"I am not what I used to be"

The intro to Waves is a ****ing work of art. Astounding legato!
Lost interest.

I suppose this fits in here. Any opinions on Guthries work with GPS and Asia? I haven't got any of the Asia stuff but the GPS album is fantastic.
#34
Mine arrived within the week. Ring them up, at one point more than a 1000 copies were stolen - perhaps yours was caught up in that mess.

(btw my copy has since been signed by Pete Riley )
#35
^lucky bugger

I don't think the stolen records would affect this. You would assume they would produce more. Did they ever get the guitars that were bumped back?
#37
They never got the guitar back. I think he replaced it with Sugi or a tom anderson. But he mainly uses suhr guitars and conford amps.
#38
That's a shame. All the les paul style clips I've seen of him are with sugi guitars but I just pressumed that was personal taste rather than second choice due to the theft.

I don't think he ever actually recorded with Asia did he? He was just a touring guitarist who brought one of his songs with him (Bad Asteroid).
