I'm restringing my SG for the first time and I wanted to know how its in tune and not 1 octave lower than its supposed to be.
Thanks in advance.

If its in an octave lower, there will be little tension, if its an octave higher, the strings will break. you'll know.

You will be able to tell if it is one octave to low. The strings will be really loose and they will buzz a lot. You shouldn't have a problem.

if it's an octave lower, the strings will be as slack as hell, trust me you'll know when it's in the right octave
That's what she said

Seriously, you would know if it was an octave lower, you could use the strings as a strap
