Okay, I decided to start working on some solos that I know, and dont think should be all to hard to do at a decent speed.

Here's my question, for this chunk, would it be okay to sorta barre off the 10th fret on both the 1st and 2nd strings? Or is that bad technique and I should stay away from that?

(BTW, This is from Stricken by Disturbed)

13p10-12p10-------13p10-12p10-------13p10-12p10-------13p10-12p10-----13p10-|
------------13p10-------------13p10-------------13p10-------------13p10-----|
----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
----------------------------------------------------------------------------|

15p10-13p10-------15p10-13p10-------15p10-13p10-------15p10-13p10-----15p10-|
-----------13p10-------------13p10-------------13p10-------------13p10------|
----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
----------------------------------------------------------------------------|
----------------------------------------------------------------------------|

Not sure if that turned out right, but, you can still see what I mean.
Life is like an Empty Box, there could be something exciting in it at first look, but upon further review, well, it's empty.

I'd barre it, no reason to make it harder for yourself. I barre everything I can, really simplifies things.

I'm not the best guitarist
But thats what I'd do
If the technique works, then why not?
It doesn't seem specifically hindering to any other skills, ya know?
Thats probably how its done, anyway.
But hey, wait for a second opinion

Yes, that is exactly what you should be doing! When you play it is good to look for the easiest positions etc to, well, make it easier lol.
