i want to be able to like look at guitarist riffs like dimebag,alexi laiho,jason becker, and rhandy rhodes and make riffs similar to them but i just can get what there doin i look at the tabs and i can change the riffs around and make them sound like them. Basically i want a riff to sound like them but i dont know what to incorperate into my playing.

study there playing styles, look in the lessons section there is a whole area dedicated to studying the playing style of well known artists, find your favourite artist and read up.

also try some dropped tunings, some of the artists you mentioned use drop tunings.

not using too many frets. most of that stuff uses a range of about 3 frets
and learn how to spell "rhoads," dammnit

another thing though is i am not real familar with the scales of the guitar i use to be but i have taken a long break from the guitar so were could i look for that
