A good friend of mine suggest I should learn to play jazz. I'm completely clueless as to where I should start. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

Start by using the search bar and/or using the right forum. But, not to be a complete ass, learn theory, chords, and scales. Major, minor, dominant, diminished, min7b5, 11ths, 13ths, and variations. You might want to look over jazz charts to see how the chord types change from one to another.

Working on your theory and phrasing will help a lot.
