I'm looking for a good high gain passive pick-up,to replace the stock pick-ups in my '83 Les Paul Studio. I play mostly rock, such as metalcore,harcore,emo,screamo,pop-punk,punk etc.

I have it narrowed down to either a pair of DiMarzio D-Activators or a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck with a JB in bridge.

JBs might be too trebly for your more modern needs? Check out Megadeth if you wanna hear what that pup can do. Mustaine loves it.

I don't know. Do you like more trebly sounds (JB)? Or more bassy (DiMarzio Breeds perhaps)? Middy (Uhh.. dunno..)? Tell us some of your preferences. Would be good to know your amp too (which has more effect on your sound than your pups).

edit: also, I need to sleep right now. But I'm sure some of the other kind (and more experienced than me) folk on this forum can help you out.

I have a Marshall 3310 head on a Marshall 4x12 cab. I do prefer more mid/bass tho. I can't decide which.
