when i play the A string on my bass(see sig) i get lots of buzz, but if i touch the part of the string that goes from the nut to the tuner the buzz stops, anyway to stop this buzz?
if i need to replace the nut explain how to and put some links if you can

It might be a bad fret wire. I've had that problem. Might be as easy to fix as pushing it down by hand

It sounds like your tuning peg is loose and rattling when the string is played. Take the string off and mess with the tuning peg. If it looks and feels loose, tighten it.
