well... i have a simple question... what's better...

a bass cab with a 15" speaker
or a bass cab loaded with 4 10" speakers...

and yeah.. both have that high frequency horn thing ...
they both cost the same... but there is one more difference.... the one with 15" can handle up to 300W... but the other can handle 400W... but i guess that really doesen't matter since the head is 240W...

so can anyone tell me what's better

It is personal preference. They get a really different sound. The 10s will obviously always have those highs and the 15 will be able to bet more lows.

PERSONALLY I prefer a 15 a lot more than a 4x10 for bass, and if the 15 has that horn then even better.

I had a listen to both of them, and bought the 4 x 10, found the sound to be tighter.

I also found the "air movement" to be more on the 4 x 10.

Are they both the same brand of cabinet? Same brand speakers etc?

I have the XL series of the 4 x 10, the aluminium cone speakers sound excellent.

The paper cones sound good as well, but I would try to get the better ones if you can.

I found the 4 x 10 to be more versatile, and it still has plenty of bottom end.

15 is more woofier, if you know what i mean.

the four 10's are alot tighter, gives it that punch.

my bass playing tried them both out yesterday.

side by side
same head
we could both tell the difference.
