It really didn't seem like a metal amp when I tried it.
It wasn't necessarily bad, but like it's VK cousin, it needed a tube and speaker swap.

I'd go for a Randall RG50TC or something.

Yeah, I hear it's painfully mediocre, which isn't helped by the speaker from hell and tubes from China.
The Laney Thread are big and clever. No exceptions.

yeah, they really dropped the ball on the combo version of this amp. The head is pretty nice though.
