I really enjoyed a compilation of newspaper articles by the war columnist Ernie Pyle, look him up. He was a journalist who stayed on the front lines with the troops and sent home columns detailing his experiences. Not a soldier, if that's what you're looking for, but REALLY interesting nonetheless. I got a book that had all of his best columns, in chronological order, from when he first went to the front lines, to right before he died - shot by a Japanese sniper in the Pacific in like 1945. Never got to see the end of the war.

I wish I knew what the book was called. I highly recommend it. But I read it several years ago, so...
I'm the type of nigga that's built to last

See, I don't give a fuck cause I keep bailin
Yo, what the fuck are they yellin?!

You're a fool.

I got some awesome ones, but they're all packed away so I can't tell you the titles I think one was Untold Stories of D-Day or something? Argh! Also, The Unknown Soldier by Guy Sajer is epic.
