I've got an idea, but it involves a high place, gasoline, and an axe. Once you've found those things, let me know, and I'll tell you what to do.

It is addressed in the manual. Turn your master volume all the way down and use the "Gain" control for your clean channel headphone volume and the "Volume" control for lead channel volume.

Guys, let's not flame him here.

I just told you in the above post. Buy whatever damn amp you want. Most of these guys will just be jackasses about you buying that amp instead of trying to steer you in the right direction.

2 minutes is where the true amazing tone comes in

If I tweaked a boutique tube amp to sound like crap and posted it on youtube, would you look at that and say "wow, what a horrible amp!"?

^ I really hope he's not tryin to say that old Zakky did that with an MG.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not
#24
lol ya, he is trying to say he did it with an mg.

and lul the thing is about most really good amps.. sure every amp can sound but no matter how much you tweak really good amps.. like you can make the gain, presence, treble max and the bass and crap like completely off and it still won't sound like as much ass as that marshall video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T0nx8oTV90

sure it can be tweaked to sound okayyy..

but the point is that's only 1 out 10 times.

well actually it was terrible tone.
the beginning may of been not as bad if he was in tune.. still was yucky but I didn't die from it but when he hits the footswitch BAM anyone = dead.

marshall mgs aren't even near the worst

you guys want terrible tone.. tone that will rip your soul out and feed it to the devil?
yes it's that bad.

then check this out!

no it isn't his camera.
it isn't his playing.. (even though he sucks very bad)

that's just the sound of a peavey rage 158 and a boss metal zone.
no matter what way you tweak it that's his tone.

If you are going to be living in a house where a loud amp is an issue then you should have gotten a smaller amp. 100 watts sounds cool and all but is pointless if it never gets turned up. I have a 30 watt tube amp live in the sticks where I can blast it and 5 is still to loud. So 100 watts would be no better.

if you just got the amp, you'll like it for now, but in about a week or 2 you'll realise that it sounds genuinely terrible. i'd honestly recommend returning it and getting something that sounds good, rather than something that looks as if it sounds good when in actual fact the only semi-redeeming feature is that it has a relatively nice clean channel. i'm not trying to bully you on the choice of amp, but honestly, you've just bought an oversized version of the cheap MG15DFX with an identical circuit, which isn't any better sounding, its just bigger, more expensive and louder.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.
