I play metal and cleans, when my action is good and low for my upper fret stuff shred, my cleans sound horrible and buzzy. When I rid the buzz on the lower frets for my cleans, my upper frets take too long to fret down completely and I end up picking a muted string.

Insight?

What guitar are you playing?

What gauge strings are you using, and what are they tuned to?

May want to get it looked at by someone who knows what they are doing with the truss rod.

I found my old Ibanez didn't like going up to 10's, it needed a few adjustments to the truss rod and intonation

You could have a play with it yourself, but I wouldn't recommend playing with it unless you know what you are doing, if you adjust it too far either way you action may be worse than it is now.
