Yesterday when I was playing Les Paul the bridge pickup suddenly lost almost all of it's tone and volume and giving me a loud buzz. I checked the wiring and found no problem there so I though the pickup might just died.
While the guitar was unstringed and everything I took the opportunity to 'finally' properly clean all the hardware for once (all blanky now). To my surprise the darn pickup started to work again after the I restringed it (note that I was just looking at the wiring, not touched anything).
What can possible happened there? could there be any type of bad static?

Those are the stock pickup on Epiphone Zakk Wylde Bullseye Les Paul by the way... EMG-HZ set.

Check the connection to the guitar's output. Try wigling it around.

pickups usually dont "die"

sometimes it's a dirty switch, and sometimes its a bad solder joint or loose connection.

flick the switch back and forth, clean it with pot cleaner with lube or blow it out with compressed air.
see if the pup comes back to life.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.
