Probably, though I would say there's a good chance of frying the delicate copper coils in the pup. Why do you want to remove the cover? They do serve a purpose after all.

^Probably not worth screwing up your pickups then. Those copper windings are thinner than your hair and could easily be damaged by the heat.

you can do it. but remember even if you dont mess with the ribbon by accident, those covers were dipped in wax and the pup might become microphonic if the structure is altered.

might not, and on stock pups, you might get a little more bite out of them. so up to you.

My friend took the covers off his Epi G-400, got bored, put em back on. Guitar worked fine

but dont do it just in case u mess something up by accident
