Not on guitar, on alto saxophone...

It can't be to long, on not to boring to put a gym full of 5th graders asleep. It just needs to be short, so the other instruments in our school band can introduce their instruments as well. We are recruiting 5th graders from the elementary into the band tomorrow, just incase if you were wondering.

And I don't think you can play I Cum Blood on alto, so that's out of the question.

If your jazz band has the sheet music, maybe you could play a section from "Saxes With Attitude" by Mark Sweeney.

Otherwise, any sax solo from Pink Floyd would do, but you should really try to improv a solo!
Signature? What's a signature?

I've heard that actually. I played bass while a sax player did his lines. It actually didn't sound too bad.

Anything interactive. "Shout" works perfectly. You know the one I'm talking about.... Isley brothers. Our schools jazz band plays this after playing a serious-esque set to get elementary school kids to consider taking band. After 10 or so Big Band charts, we whip out an arrangement of Shout, and the place literally goes crazy. Moshpits of 5th graders.... theres nothing more amusing.

Dude, if you can just improv some jazz/blues. They're fifth graders; they aren't hard to impress. You'll be the cool one instantly and everyone will want to play sax.

This. Scream the high notes and just sound badass and you'll get tons of little kids wanting to play sax. Or play a bari and they'll be even more interested because of the size.

As I'm listening to it now, a saxophone rendidition of the solo from Whole Lotta Love might be quite cool.
