Hello dudes ! This was a attempt with the Guinnes dudes here in Brasil ! Is a try for speed with alternated picking.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BynUZOJc8QI

I think that was the first attempt for that record in Guinnes.
The attemp is "Flight of Bumblebee" in 320. +- 26-25 nps ?

Is absolutly not-musical , but is funny.

Bye dudes !

It's possible to play much faster using sweep picking than alternate picking, as simply playing a chord is sweep picking done so fast, the notes can't be distinguished from one to another. In constests of speed, usually only alternate picking is judged.

Dude. U didnt even watched the video and posted a reply? wtf?

I did watch the video. I saw the same thing before but with somebody else in his house. Same speed, sounded like a damn machine gun. Then he explained how to do it. Tried to find that video but I couldn't and that's when I came across that sweep picking one.

except that even in extremely fast sweep picking, only one note ever rings out at a time. which is not what a chord is.

thats hillarious. he has good picking technique imo.
idk why everyone keeps saying sweeping makes it faster
but you dont sweet up and down one string
anyway that was funny as hell

he was playing so fast, that until he got to the higher notes all of the notes sounded the same, but man i wish i could alternate that fast

To those saying he sucks, that's just plain ignorance and closed-mindedness. He clearly has skill. I mean, look at his LEFT HAND also. To be able to fret all those notes so cleanly, not to mention his alternate picking sounds like a machine gun.

Anyway, no guitar technique is ever useless; that doesn't make sense. Sure he may not have focused as much on music, but he's CLEARLY proven his self-discipline for training near-perfected technique, which could definitely come in handy in his music if he wanted it to. It's a matter of applying your technique to the ultimate reason to play the guitar -- creating and playing music.
