Hey guys,
Looking at a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 at the moment, I just realised it had an EMG 89 in the neck position though! I don't know anyone that has one of these so any reviews or opinions on them would be great!

Are they just as good as the EMG 85's when in humbucking mode?

Cheers

It's *basically* an 85 that you can coil split.

^I'd let a pro look at it. Once you get into the technicalities of screws...well, it's just a place you don't want to be, friend.

I have one in the neck of a Randy Rhoads V. It sounds just like the 85 in humbucker mode and in single coil mode it sounds just like the EMG SA. I actually inverted it so that in SA mode the poles are further from the bridge make the single coil tone warmer, it's great!
