Right now im doing guitars/vocals for a band, and our vocal amp is this tiny kustom guitar amp, and it twists the sound. What is a good amp/mic for old school metal vocals? my range is around Dio, Whitesnake and Iron Maiden, and our amp won't carry the courseness; if you've ever recorded into a phone, you would know what I mean
Any suggestions?

need for high gain and high range

I'd try gettin an actual sound board with a few speakers sized 10 by 10 or more. Search musiciansfriend.com for a few. They have some for a couple hundred dollars, speakers not included course. For like $600, you can even get one that records onto a disc.
