I'm about to go jam with my band right now for the first time with my new VK, and before my drummer always used an instrument cable to connect to an EQ pedal, that then went to his computer, so it went like this: Guitar-->Dist. pedal--> Amp-->EQ pedal-->Computer

So my question is, can the external speaker jack be used the same way, and not damage my amp? Also if it can be used that way, will sound still come through the speaker in the amp?
I'm in a hurry so any help will be greatly appreciated.

Has it got a line out?

yea, if it does, I say use a line out. I think if you just use the external speaker jack you could cause problems because of impedance and loads and such...if not, use a microphone. but you could still put an EQ between the two.
