I just sold my delay and I'm looking for a great delay, with lots of options and a great sound. I'll look at anything from the bottom to the top of that price range, including multifx (though I'm not interested in preams/distortion.)

Thanks for any input.

There's no fx loop on the nova, so you can't do 4 cable method, which means i have to decide whether i want it in the loop, or in the front of the amp. In the loop, OD and comp sound dumb, and in front delay and reverb sounds ****ty. I think that's bad for such an expensive pedal. Plus, only 3 presets? C'mon, at that price i'd save for the g-system. thanks for the suggestion though.

Any others? I was looking at the eventide Timefactor, and the Damage Control Timeline.

EDIT: To above thanks for the suggestions.

T-Rex replica, very straight forward, just a very good delay.

Add the T-Rex and the Diamond Analog Delay to Timi's list, and you'd have a nice choice of pedals.

I think you should get more than one.

More than one eh? I like the way you think.

Cool layering and stuff. Do you guys have any clues on the Nova System, it seems like a pretty decent solution - albeit a little expensive.

I have the Boss DD20 Giga Delay which I absolutely love.

It has 23 seconds of delay, a digital display so you can precisely calculate delay time, and about 8 different settings including reverse and SOS.

I also have the Electro Harmonix #1 Echo which is also amazing.

It has 2 seconds of delay and it is very easy to work with but it affects the tone a little when it is on.

23 seconds
Madness

I've got the #1 Echo and its a cracking Delay, i don't think it affects the tone really.
Its a pure and simple delay, Can adjust the Delay time, how long it goes on for, and the blend.
I'd highly reccomend it, well within your budget

Yeah the tonal change is so minute that I almost think I was overreacting when I even mentioned it.

I probably just don't have the mix set correctly...

K, so I'm stuck now between the timefactor, the nova, and the DD-20. Any thoughts?

Ahh, I was actually talking about the nova system, and i have no idea why, considering the context of the thread. Heh. I guess it was after a long day working in the sun.

The Nova delay seems cool, the system doesn't really work for me.

I would go with the DD-20 just because I have it and it is amazing.

The only drawback I can think of is that it is very hard to do any warping,
as the delay time is set with a completely different mechanism from other delay pedals.

Try it out in a store and you will see what I mean,
but this is a very small problem relating to something that the pedal isn't even designed to be used for so I would go for it.

Subdecay make a really cool one, hand made and true bypass, great features too.

I'm really liking the sound and simpicity of the Super Delay by Empress! Expensive, but cheap shipping cause I'm Canadian.

I've pretty much ruled everything out save the Eventide and the Empress.

500 bucks? how many pedals are you buying? just kidding...

dd-20...just don't buy into the 23 seconds feature.

This is what I think

Digital- More for crisp, clear, long delays
Boss DD-20: Very good workhorse delay, but with versatility you give up tone. To me the 23 seconds is a gimmick. I bought one because of it, but ended up selling it.
SMM/H- Pretty cool pedal, but a bit overrated IMHO
Nova Delay- My favorite digital delay, sounds great and easy to use
Eventide Timefactor- stellar box, but its expensive ($400) and is a bit of a tweaker

Analog- more for mojo and short delay sounds (i.e. Pink Floyd)
DMM- Very trippy pedal. I own one and I love it.
Moog- SIIICCK analog delay, my favorite on the market, but its a 100 dollars out of your price range.
Malekko E300/600- I prefer the bright and its a very nice simple delay, very nice tone and mojo
Carbon Copy- eh. It's alright, but with the money you've got I would skip it.

So all in all if I were you I'd either splurge for a Moog or get a Malekko E300 or DMM and a Nova.
