i currently own a cheap ibanez and a line 6 spider
i play all kinds of (hard) rock and metal

i have ~ £200 ($400) to spend on any kind of gear, but i dont really want a new amp or guitar just yet so that leaves me with efects pedals and stuff.

anyone got any ideas for some decent pedals etc. to start with?
just anything at all that would be good to get as a first pedal/efect.....
i was thinking line 6 pod, crybaby or somekind of multi effects/distortion pedal....

any opinions are appreciated. cheers

No effect pedal is going to make your Spider sound better, especially when it's modeling.

Sounds like you need a new amp.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

With $300 there isn't a whole lot out there that sounds better than a Spider but is capable of metal.

By high-gain I don't mean stupid stuff. I just mean styles like Motley Crue or Iron Maiden
