This is my first post ever and the first of the stuff i've written that is half decent. it's just a little acoustic love(ish) song. i'd love critiques, advice, suggestions, etc.

V1
Red rhododendrons grow
in front of the snowy porch
glances from dark-eyed people walking in the street.
Rain on the roof of our house,
freezes our toes and reddens my nose,
I'll hold your hand to keep it from getting too cold.

V2
Rest my face on your hair,
and the tears well up in my eyes
as warmth fills the house for lack of sunlight in the sky

(chorus maybe?)

V3
And maybe I can't look in your eyes,
but some day,
maybe one day,
i hope we won't have to feel the ice and snow,
just know that I know,
and i'll hold your hand to keep it from getting too cold.
(end)

Chorus
These red rhododendrons grow,
breaking through all the ice and snow
I never knew how simple it is to be cold
but red rhododendrons grow,
nevermind all the ice and snow
I hope you don't get too cold.
