Alright, my mom has given me a choice. When I turn 16 i can choose between a street bike, or a car. Well, Im not entirely sure what the pros and cons are to the bikes. Right now, gas is $4.17 a gallon where I live. So, what are the pros and cons to having a streetbike? My mom wants to know so she can start saving for my sixteenth. Thanks for any help.

The car is going to cost mad money, but it will get you to places faster and get you laid.

Having a motorcycle is really nice but it is seasonal. So dont expect to be riding it in the winter/fall/early spring time. Besides, you have to have your automoblie license before you can get your motorcycle.
Pros: Fun as all hell, good on gas
Cons: Cant get around in the cold or rain, must buy helmet, jacket, boots when you first start out (another 800 if your lucky), the wait on getting ur license (i dont even have mind and ive been riding for 2 years)

I would say, if you have a means of transportation, like another car to get yourself around, go for the bike. But if there is only like 1-2 cars in the family, it will be hard to "get around" Consider college, work, friends. I could not live right now without my car.

BTW what bike are you considering???

When I turned 16 I got a few shirts.

Same here, and awesome username.

And the bike would be better economically, especially if you have a public transit system where you live, then you could just use that if you had to go anywhere that was too far to ride the bike to, which is STILL a sh*tload cheaper than gas.

get the car, and get a job to pay for gas. Easy choice, bikes shouldn't be your first option of transportation.

Definitely the car. I'm all for bikes, but get a car first.
