So I was in the market for a nice guitar, and i noticed there are like 8 different finishes for any given guitar model (maybe more, maybe less) so I was wondering what kind of finishes you guys like

I really like the Ibanez Chromeboy finish. I'm a sucker for shiny finishes...

I can't believe i forgot about EvH's guitar. Twas pretty clever of him to use the masking tape... It's too bad he knows jack squat about electronics...
But yeah...

That's because it's his signature model.

I like the chrome finish on the JS10th too (though not near a favourite), but thy still haven't come up with a chrome finish with any real durabilty, the chrome comes off very easily.

Personally, candy apple red and a good two-tone sunburst on strats.
My name is Tom, feel free to use it.

I love my Galveston's finish.

With a matching headstock finish.

It's also got a finished neck, which I love.

On almost all guitars, an Arctic/Alpine White finish (pure white with about 3% tint of light blue - opposed to 'Classic' whites which have a small cream tint), with gold metal hardware (e.g. pickup covers, tuners, bridge), and black plastic hardware (e.g. pickup mounting rings, pickguards) and black binding. Finish it with an ebony or rosewood fretboard, with no inlays. Best finish for any type of guitar.
Yes, I know everything. No, I can't play worth a damn.

So you think that Satch signature guitar looks like one of Satch's guitars? How fitting.

Probably a nice Olympic White. Especially on Strats with a black pickguard. Other than that a nice Transparent Dark Purple or Blue on a QM top.

THE best finish I've ever seen before was a purply/pink LTD M-400NT I saw at Guitar Center once. I wish I bought it.
Bands to see before I die:
Iron Maiden
Foo Fighters
Megadeth
Reel Big Fish
Rush
Streetlight Manifesto

Gear:
Epi LP Standard
Washburn Strat
Line 6 Spider (Yes, I know it's bad)

GAS:
Ibanez RG3570Z
Digitech Whammy

Yeah, all those finishes are good. Any mix of bright white, purple, pink and blue works for me.

I'm a sucker for flame bookmatched maple. Preferably in a red or greenburst transparent finish, though I love them in natural finishing too.

Or for something simpler, I like metallic paint finishes, black metallic looks great under stagelighting
