I've been playing for nearly 2 years and I know next to nothing about scales. There's so many of them. I know it's best to learn the blues and pentatonic and such but Im still really clueless.

How did you go about learning scales and how has it helped you? Thanks

the easiest way for me to learn scales like major was to look up how they are formed. The major scale for example is formed by using the WWHWWWH step interval forrmula.
W=Whole H=half

hmm. I've heard of that before. I guess its just that I can't get motivated to learn.

Get motivated. You have to be. Learning theory is hard.

I suggest reading the theory link and then stopping by MT to ask some questions about it. However, you must ask a question. "I don't get this" threads do not get responses.
