What are the greatest decades for music or just your favorites.
Mine are:

90s
60s
70s
80s

I just don't like the 80s, and i'm not sure where this decade would go yet, only time will tell....

And I just named them in order, I don't really listen to music pre-60s so when I say 80s are last that means I think it's the worst decade.

There's too many bands that I love from all era's so I can't pin one or two or even three down. Pink Floyd from the 60's got my into rock music. 18th century brought my to classical pieces. 90's echoed Deftones and System of a Down, amony others, who are two of my top favourite bands. 80's got me into metal with Metallica and Guns N Roses but the 70's first got me into stoner rock which was a huge part of my life, at one point anyway. That then evolved into my love of Grunge from the early 90's onwards with Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, QOTSA and Faith No More. Which evolved into what I love now... 00's with Biffy Clyro, Interpol, Radiohead, Kings of Leon, Meshuggah, Muse and The Strokes.

2000s.

Hands down.

I'm not denying that the others are great, but this decade is just amazing.

I would have to say the 90s are my #2, though.

Out of all the "rock" era from 1950-2000...Best to worst

1980's: What's awesome about this era is the rise of metal. The Big Four came out. What could be better? Great albums in this era...oh man....This was THE time to be a Thrash Metal fan.

1990's: Melodic death metal FTW! The Three Kings of melodic death metal came in this era. Things got a little more mainstream, but also grunge came, and alternative rock started. Nu Metal came and so did other good rock bands like Dream Theater, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, etc.

1970's: Many influential rock bands came in this era. Pink Floyd's "DSOTM" and "The Wall". Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, so many great bands.

2000's: It's all mainstream, but there are a LOT of good rock bands even today. Like Shadows Fall, All That Remains, A7X, etc.

1960's: Sure, they were influential, but not as good as other eras.

1950's: Respect this era, but let's be serious....

During practice once, my bass player was trying to act cool and headbang and I hit him in the face with sharp head of my washburn (accident maybe). Theres still a tiny bit of blood in my guitar, I think its kinda cool

There was a lot of good music in the 80's but I cannot listen to it due to the horrible production thereof on every song by every artist in that decade.
