ok, i only listen to old music.
led zeppelin, rolling stones, van halen, ramones,ac/dc, aerosmith(thats not all, i cant name them all now). The newest bands i listen to are guns n roses, and nirvana. i used to like the red hot chili peppers, but im not too crazy about them anymore. velvet revolver is OK.
the point is, i need to start listening to some good, modern music. any bands u cud name that are similar to the ones i hav listed?

wolfmother are the next in line for the term classic rock imo
airbourne sound exactly like ac/dc with a more modern vibe

if you give them a chance My chemical romance has a very hard rock sound aleit the come across emo they are very good hard rockers
some songs by SOAD
also for a twist on classics look up apocalytica 4 chellists redoing classic rock songs
all in all wolfmother is right down your alley

A Day to Remember, Saosin, Chiodos, Thrice, Protest The Hero, Dethklok, Finch.
Someone plunged a dagger deep into God's chest and
When he groaned it laid our entire civilization to rest
When he pulled out the dagger and marveled at the pain he could create
We stuck another in his back to seal creation's fate

The Raconteurs. Get Consolers of the Lonely though, the first one sucked. Also as already mentioned Derek Trucks, listen to Preachin Blues and Young Funk from Out of the Madness. Mindless Self Indulgence is one of the most unique bands of today. Can't go wrong with movie soundtracks.
