same old, same old.

I once found a face in the stars,
and asked, "God is that you?"
There was no response.
The face merely blinked and turned away.
It was then that I wept, for at that moment I realized
just how empty the universe is, and how
so very lonely life could be.

I awoke to a new face in the clouds,
a smile, a gleam, a glimmer of mirth,
yet it was too late. I could not feel a thing.
I merely blinked, and turned away.

I really like the sntiment, Alk.

Some parts, espcially the first stanza, felt a bit too prosey with "did this, did that" sort of narrative detracting, I thought.

I'm not sure if I liked "awoke" when there's no hint of you falling asleep. You go from wept to awoke, which threw me slightly.

Anywho, good to see you post
