Well im currently in a bit of a rut I have a cube 30x and was planning on getting a vk112 or RG50TC but thought they were too big for practise. So now im looking for a small high gain tube amp forf metal, which led me to thinking whether my cube is good for what i need atm and just invest in a nice guitar with a floyd my budget is no more than £400($800ish)

I'd say get a new amp. A Cube 30 will probably struggle if you ever want to jam/gig.

Also, isn't that Jackson meant to be pretty good?

Yeah, get the amp. I vote Randall RG50TC because that is pretty good for metal, better than the valveking IMO. PLus, there aren't really any smaller sized tube amps for metal except for maybe the Ibanez Valbee or something.

Get the amp.

Also, I was at download 2007 also, and I got in for free because I was working there. tee hee indeed.

My personal opinion is to go on ebay (or purchase new) and buy yourself a Pod. A Pod is an effects/amp modeler that will give you endless options. Turn on your clean channel on your 10 watt mini amp, plug your guitar into the Pod, the Pod into the amp, and you are playing through a 1980's Marshall Halfstack or a Mesa/Boogie Fullstack, or both simultaneously! I got my floor pod for $150 on ebay and would have paid $1,000. The price will vary depending on the features you want. But if you've got the cash, you will never regret making the decision to get the X3. Check it out here. You can get them for $500 here, and you can always check out the cheaper models if you dont want all the extra garbage.

Don't listen to this guy.

I'd get the RG50TC, I have one and it owns.

it is nice amazing to play just lacks a floyd, my first amp choice was the RG50TC just thought for practise and the occasional jam that 50watt tube was a bit high

get the amp, i run an epi lp standard through a boss me50 to a cube 30x, the amp is definately the worst part, the effects are awsemoe on a tube amp, the gutiar is bril, the amp is sorta fuzzy and to unclear, get a small tube amp like an epi valce standard or soemthing and effects, the me 50 is good but if your into metal you probalby dont want all the effects so just get a couple of stomp boxes. valves dont need so much power to get the same volume by the way so you dont need a million watts

Ok so i have pretty much set on the RG50TC but i have found a new contender the Peavey XXX but im looking for the 40 watt combo as i have no need for the head version but unfortunately they are now discontinued, is there anything similar to it i think i remember hearing about an ashdown fallen angel amp be quite similar cant really remeber

There is also the peavey ultra (precursor to the triple x). The ashdown fallen angels are discontinued, but if I recall they are preety good.
Your band must play at really low volumes if that randall is too loud...

I would just get the randall though...
