Also caught her playing fallout boy on my guitar, changed my strings and cleaned it the next day. A week later it was greenday.
If she does anythign like that again I'm going to snap her drumsticks, kick her bass drum in and frisbee her cymbals.

most of his tone comes from his amp and his pedals. most guitars would work to get his sound.
My name is Charlie.

Gear
Gretsch Electromatic Pro Jet
Fender Deville 410
Electro-Harmonix USA Big Muff
Digitech Whammy IV
MXR Micro Amp
Dunlop Crybaby Wah

get a strat bodied guitar (preferably old, used, and beat up, alder body), get a strat style neck (again, old used and beat up, more importantly with a maple neck and rosewood or ebony fretboard, with a locking nut). Then, go buy an Ibanez Edge Trem, and slap it on there. Get a standard strat pickguard, but wire only one tone knob, and two volumes; one for the bridge and the other for the neck/middle. Add a killswitch. Make sure your guitar has 22 frets. For pickups, get two fender single coils for the neck and bridge, and an SD Hot Rails for the bridge. All together, it should be around 800 - 1000 USD.

I recommend Google my friend, there's alot been said about his pedals, amps etc, it's all on the net.

I know that pedal wise he has the original Whammy (analog, better tracking), a EQ pedal which he says he needs for solo's to "take him to 11", a MXR Phase Pedal (I think a script one, not sure). I can't remember the rest. Sorry.
#8
well..he uses a Les paul also now...but u could always get jus any guitar wit a whammy pedal
#10
His Arm the Homeless guitar has EMG 81/85 pickups.

And his Marshall JCM800 220(5?) helps.
#11
Hold on, before buying a killswitch for your guitar and all that, he does NOT use a killswitch, not a real one anyway. He turns the volume on one pickup down while leaving the other fun, and toggles the selector up and down to imitate a killswitch. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7LFUva7Xe94 video examlpe of it.
#12
Just about any guitar will do, as he uses a variety of different guitars. Seen him use a les paul, a telecaster, an ES 335 among others. He also has a very flat eq.

The Soul Power he used with Audioslave is a Aerodyne strat with a Hotrails in the bridge.
#13
Yeah, he only has a killswitch on his Soul Power guitar, he uses the volume to zero/toggle switch method on the Arm The Homeless.

Go into your local guitar store.
Go to the effects pedals.
Throw some darts at the pedals and see where they land.
Leave store with those pedals.
Win.
I decided I want to be more like the people on ug...

edited..i made a mistake..whoopdeedoo...

HE Does use a Marshall head..but that doesnt change much about
what i said...

He may have his favorite...but you can play anything he plays on a Peavey tube..
The special effects however...you really need a whammy..perhaps a kill switch..
killer overdrive..and distortion. He has a Guitar World tutorial video that u may
be able to find on youtube..where he demonstrates some of his special effects..

but honestly its not the guitar...Its the Peavey cab. *edited*

Its like Zakk Wylde..hes a great guitarist...but take away his Marshall and
he just wouldnt sound the same. The amp is probably the most overlooked
piece of gear u can buy.

I like Peaveys myself....Marshall's sound great too but there is something
missing that Peavey has. Of course ..none of this has any actual basis.
ITs just personal preference..and what your ear tells you.
I bet Charlie Brown's teacher's name was Mrs.Hammett

Tome...Sorry I misled you about that head man..

But you can seriously mimic his core tone with peavey tube amps..
Solo channel on Valve king...crank up the lead..and you got instant
*Bulls on parade*. not just the same riffs..but the same tone..
If a Peavey Cab makes the sound..you can do it on a Peavey combo.
Valve king may be for you..

I think I've had a good day today, I'm well over my quota.

But seriously, you came in all high and mighty telling us how ACTUALLY his sound comes from Peavey amps, when you were wrong. That's just not helpful, however good your intentions were.

A dwarf might hear you. What then?

why in the world would you invest 1000 dollars to sound like wikki wiikiw whoop da shoop looopidi loopiddeeeloooo? just buy a whammy pedal dude, after all the effects that dude runs through, your guitar's original tone isnt going to matter...if you run a guitar through like 506350 different effect pedals and wahs and everything else, its not going to be the same guitar.

He doesn't use as many effects as you think. His pedal board is actually pretty small.
He uses a 50 Watt Marshall head with vintage tubes from the 70's, I believe. I would invest in getting the amp. Any guitar you have can emulate his tone well enough.

Exactly. Hell, some of his guitars are just POS guitars he found in pawn shops.
To bi-ah!, for RATM he used 5 pedals. That's it. Most of it is pure innovation.

I have an epiphone les paul (which is like the polar opposite of morello) and a slash wah pedal. I usually mute one pickup and turn the other all the way up. Then, I use the rhythm/treble switch and alternate between the two settings really fast and sliding my hand along the strings and using the wah when appropriate. I know thats only if you have a switch, but if you do, it definatly works
