CRUCIFIX BLUES

I want that woman who
Dresses like a carpenter
She wants to be like Jesus
But God wants to be like her

Stigmata on her hands
Working a dead-end job
And she spends all she earns
On useless, thankless God

Now she's up on her cross
And there is no doubt
She likes the weather up there
And she's not coming down

I've got the crucifix blues
'Cause someone else is nailing you

Turn my snake into a staff
With your Levitikiss
Show me your burning bush
Don't show me no Exodus

You could part the Red Sea
So baby spread somethin' else
Oh please don't stone me
You know I mean well

But talking dirty now
In these damned parables
Honey pie that's just how
I flirt with miracles

I've got the crucifix blues
'Cause someone else is nailing you

I think this is my favourite from you. Like, ever.

Everything from the title (Brilliant, IMO) to the chorus just sits there perfectly.

I'll try and be back with something constructive, but just know that this rocked my world a little.

BLASPHEMY!!!!!!!!

this was great. you've been posting nothing but "memorable somethings" here lately; don't know if i can categorize these or not, man, tbh. sorry for the nothing comment, but i can't wait for the next.

the title is wicked.

You made my day:-)
I like it very much, the "turned my snake into a staff" made me lol. Very good and humoristic methaphors. It is a serius theme, but I think it is a fun and different way to talk about that. I really like the style.

this was well deserved of the recognition it's gotten.

i suppose there's a chance
i'm just a litte too shallow to consider
that maybe i've been a little more eager
each day to wake up and take a shower
brush my teeth and smile for the mirror

I'm not as impressed as everyone else tbh.
Good idea, but you could have executed some of it a lot better.
That said, there's not much that I can pick on.
I just didn't take anything from this at all.
Meh.

This isn't that special.

A lot of the lines are just weak.

I really liked this. Some of the lines didn't really stack up with some of the more brilliant ones, but I guess that's an o.k. problem to have.
