After months of practicing the blues & pentatonic scales going up and down, I finally tried freestyling something today. I can't say it was very good, but man through my amp with its awesome tone came the coolest thing I've heard myself play in awhile. so I'm hooked on getting better at this

anyways does anyone know where I can get ahold of a very simple blues backing track in different timings (4/4, 6/8, etc). Something with a very simple drum beat (like the symbals in john mayer's "gravity").

at this point I'm not interested in anything for one particular song, just something a person could play anything to.
this is a post. there are many like it but this one is mine

What blues songs are in 6/8? 12/8 is way more common.

according to my powertab I have of the song, "gravity" the john mayer song I was just talking about is in 6/8. it could be wrong I guess. I'm not that good with compound timings and stuff

you can argue that its not reaaally a blues song. but it sounds pretty bluesy to me

Well, I guess...

When I compare a song like Gravity to a song like Texas Flood, or even a more 'rock' song like The Lengths by The Black Keys, it's clear to me which is more bluesy.

But blues is typically written in 4/4 or 12/8

Do it once, it's a mistake.

Keep doing it, it's Jazz.

I wrote a blues in 12/8 today at school (on sibelius), we were supposed to be doing minimalism and only using quavers...**** that. My friend made a piano solo on it, it was pretty awesome.

Just search blues backing tracks on google...easy as.
