After many orientations at Best Buy, i finally start tomorrow. This will be my first actual training at the cash register. On my first day, I will be out on the floor actually ringing out customers and the problem is, I have never worked a "sophisticated" cash register, just a simple money in-money out register at my garage sales and such. I assume I will get some assistance on my first day, but I am still a little bit nervous about making stupid mistakes from nervousness (a bit ironic isn't it?). So does anyone work retail cash registers? Any tips? Am I just making a bigger deal out of this than it needs to be?

Yes, just scan the barcode and stick it in a bag.

Come on, have you never played shops when you were younger? That's all the training you need!

Well this is just something that everyone needs to go through. They said I am free to sell stuff on the floor in a department I am interested in but AFTER I get good at working the register.

Working on tills is easy, there's nothing to it.
I hope it doesn't seem, like I'm young, foolish, and green.
Let me in for a minute, you're not my life but I want you in it
