I am searching to buy a new guitar amp head and am looking at the Bugera amps because of cheap price and high gain. I play beatdown heavy as hell hardcore and was wondering which would be better a Bugera 333 120 watt head or a Bugera 6262 120 watt head?

I have owned the 6262 and 333XL, and the 333XL was easily the better amp, BUT the 333 lacks the XL mode, the noise gate and the EL34 tubes which were the features that made the amp better.

I would also say if cleans aren't a big priority, save the $50 and get a 6260.

Have you played the 333 at all?
If you have is there a big difference in the sound?

No, but the amp is voiced the same as XL only it doesn't have the XL mode which mixes the Crunch and Lead together.

The Crunch channel has a good bit more gain than the 62xx series, the Lead sounds a good bit warmer, fuller and less sterile than the 6262. I'm not sure how much of that is attributed to the EL34 tubes (you can swap to EL34s on any Bugera).

My advice is: Between the 6262 and the 333, Go for the 333. If you're open to getting the 6260, get that and use the extra $50 to put toward a swap to some high-quality EL34 tubes.

I'd personally go for the 333.
The 333xl's noise gate doesn't do too much. And the 333 is better than the 6262.
Signatures are overrated.

Even the 6260 is an excellent sounding amp. I like the simplicity of it, and it is very responsive. You could always buy that, then take the money you saved and buy a primo set of tubes. New tubes make them sing
