i think it's a pretty nifty idea. it's in an old municipal ferry terminal in New York. People hooked up devices that bang the girders, rattle the rafters, and blow through the pipes of the building are attached to the only object inside, a weathered pipeorgan. Every key is wired to different device in the building, each producing a unique sound. It's going to be used by David Byrne, The "like Humans Do" song guy.

why are metal musicians prone to fatness?
Cause there music is heavy.

The idea is nice, but the quality of the music is poor. And that is only distracted by the strangeness and size of the "instrument".

I think it would be a better idea to control various motors' frequencies. Not only will this allow the suspension of notes created by the frequencies, but allow for an actual development of a musical piece.

...modes and scales are still useless.

That would **** me up if I didn't know it was there while in the building.

Tool, anyone?
Alter Bridge, maybe?
A bit of John Mayer?
Some beethoven sounds delightful, as well.
