1.In Dani California, do you mute it with the fretting hand for the chorus part? (the x's during the distorted part) RHCP seems to do this alot.
e|-------------------------------------|
B|------------------------------------- |
G|----------- 5-5-xx-5/7-7-7-7x7--------|
D|-3-3-3-xx--5-5-xx-5/7-7-7-7x7--5-5-5-|
A|-3-3-3-xx--3-3-xx-3/5-5-5-5x5--5-5-5-|
E|-1-1-1-xx---------------------- 3-3-3-|
wow that really screwed up what the tab looked like.

2.Is it better to rest your palm (picking hand) behind the bridge, or is it better to kind of hover your hand over the pickups?

3.Whats the difference between wah and auto-wah (I saw it on my Zoom pedal)

4. What is a disco rhythm strumming? (from that one song, Kung Fu Fighting)

5. Do I need to always practice with a metronome, or just occasionally?

6. If I was to take lessons, how many should someone take, and is it really nessecary?

1. Yes, fretting hand

2. either or, I rest it behind the bridge, but do whatever you like best

3. wah is a manual thing, using the rocker pedal and auto wah is just what it says, it does the moving for you. I prefer a manual because you have a lot more control over it

4. I have no idea what this question means.

5. Occasionally, it can get boring if you do it all the time. But it is a good thing to use as often as you can
Now officially has too much gear to list

PM me if you want to know about my recording setup

4. It's called a syncopated rhythm. It's not a disco style at all, but is used heavily in funk, ska, and reggae, as well as Jazz and Ragtime.

5. I never practice with a metronome, some always practice with a metronome. It depends on the style and type of player you are.

4. Ok that makes sense, thanks
5. I should probably do it every once and a while, just to maintain rythym.

there is a lot of "disco strumming" on the Blood Sugar Sex Magik Album. check that out for some ideas. especially the chorus of My Lovely Man.
