Ok. I can do hammer ons/pull offs but on pull offs and hammer ons sometimes I have a hard time getting a loud sounding note. Like on "Eruption" by Van Halen or "The Metal" by Tenacious D. Any help?

For pull-offs, i find that when you pull off, kind of hit the string again with the finger you're pulling off. Hammer-ons... i dunno, not that hard to get a loud tone from. Just hit hard enough and with the tip of your finger. You can turn up treble and turn down bass i think that gives a better tone for tapping i cant remember what it is exactly.

When doing hammer-ons, try to keep your finger on the hammered-on note for a long time. If you take it off quickly, the note is too quiet. For pull-offs, try (with your finger that your pulling-off with), as well as pulling your finger upwards (off the fretboard) a little sideways. This works best on the high E string (the thinner one), but on the other strings it should be easier to do HOs and POs.
