I'm thinking of buying this guitar, but recently i've really got into blues.

Is it possible to get that twangy strat tone from a rg1570(hsh) single coil?

If I buy a strat (hss), would it handle shreddier stuff like Vai, Satriani...?

Of course you can shred on a strat. Yngwie does it.

The middle single coil on the 1570 is pretty decent, but it you want that really jangly sound, I'd recommend putting coil taps on it.

Thanks for the quick reply!

a Rg1570 is already coil tapped i think.

But will the cleans sound anything close to that sparkling strat tone?

It won't sound like some texas specials, but it will have some good single coil tone.

You'll get decent sparkle from positions 2 & 4, it won't be quite as spanky as a strat but it's not bad.
