Alright, this summer, I'm finally going to have enough money to get an acoustic guitar. And i've pretty much decided taht the S6 is the guitar for me. problem is, no store near me has it, Ive been to about 10 different stores in and out of my area, and none of them have it. So my question is, is the quality control on seagulls good enough to just buy it from musiciansfriend without trying it out?

first, i recommend always trying any guitar before you buy it.

but, if you must, i'd say you'll be ok. i've never heard of any quality control issues with seagull.

I've never had a problem with them, but try and ask your stores to order it in. It's always best to play before you buy.

I'm going to do that, but the policy at the only store i regularly go to is that if you order something in, then you have to pay a 25% deposit on it, and if you don't buy it, they keep the money and put the guitar on the floor.

i would change stores any musicain/salesman that will only order something sight unseen and expect you to cover 25 percent off the top regardless of wheather it is a dog or not is not who i would be dealing with. guitars are just way to personall and have different enough tones (even in the same make and model) to buy sight unseen. i can understand paying for shipping but 25 percent on a guitar they are still gonna sell as brand new if you dont buy it on the spot and keep 25 percent sounds like they are doing serious trama to poeples rectums and not using lube or giving a reach around to me.

Just order online from a reputable supplier that has a good returns policy. That way if you get a duff one or if you just don't like it you can return it with no hassle!

I agree, that's outrageous. I'd go with Highbinder's suggestion, there are plenty of online stores that have excellent no-questions-asked return policies.
